Community Garden

Emergency Social Services (ESS)

Emergency Social Services provides short-term assistance to residents who are forced to leave their homes due to an emergency or disaster.  This assistance includes food, lodging, clothing, emotional support and family reunification.  For more information or to become a volunteer call 250-242-3939

Grizzly Valley Saddle Club

The Grizzly Valley Saddle Club offers its members all manner of horse related activities.  We have excellent trails to trek out on and a large outdoor riding arena.  For more information, contact Jennifer Marsel @ 250-242-7355

Lions Club of Tumbler Ridge

The Lions Club of TR meets the first Thursday of each month in Room 3 of the TR Community Centre. Contact Frank Walsh @ 250-242-4609 or Elaine Cooper @ 250-242-3536 for more information.  Lions Club Bingo on Mondays at 7:00 PM in room 5 at the Community Centre, doors open at 6:30 PM.  Bingo will take place on Tuesday if Monday is a statutory holiday.

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly)

TOPS is a non-profit, non-commercial weight loss support organization.  TOPS members are dedicated to helping each other lose weight safely and take off pounds sensibly.  Meetings are held on Thursdays at 6:00 PM at Willow Hall.  For more information call Aleen Torraville @ 250-242-4052

TR Cares Medical Shuttle Service

TR Cares Shuttle Service program is funded by Northern Health and operated by volunteers.  It is a free service for patients needing to travel to out-of-town medical appointments.  Please call 250-242-7444 for more information regarding departure times.

TR Health Centre Foundation

Tumbler Ridge Chamber of Commerce

The Tumbler RIdge Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization with members encompassing business leaders, professionals, residents and community groups working together to improve local business, lifestyles and building a stronger community.  The Chamber oversees and manages the Tumbler Ridge Visitor Information Centre.  Our office is located at 265 Southgate.

Tumbler Ridge Days Society (Grizfest)

The society promotes the Grizfest Musical Festival that takes place the first long weekend in August.  Planning and organization is constantly underway.  For updates on the upcoming lineup check out www.grizfest.com. Anyone interested in becoming involved in the organization call the TR Community Centre at 250-242-4246, we welcome anyone who is interested in participating.

Tumbler Ridge Search & Rescue

TR Search & Rescue is a provincially regulated (BCSARA) and entirely volunteer-based group. We are always accepting applications and welcome people of all skills & abilities. The Ground S&R certified course is approximately 75 hours and costs nothing but dedication and a little elbow grease.  TR SAR meetings are held the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month @ 7:00 PM at the SAR Bay in the industrial park.  For more information, stop by our training centre or call 250-242-7450 or 250-257-0375.

Tumbler Ridge Success By Six / Children First

Success by Six is a community based, cross sectoral partnership of individuals and organizations dedicated to the care, development and education of children ages 0-6 years.  We work to increase access to strong and effective early childhood programming, provide parents and caregivers training and resources, and open communications between community groups to make sure that the voices of our children are heard and represented.  For more information, please call Colette Ernst @ 250-242-4424 or email colette.ernst@gmail.com.

WIP (Work In Progress)

WIP is a local support group for families and individuals with special needs.  It is direct by families and allows us to share in our joys as well as the challenges that we face on a daily basis.  For more information, contact Angela 250-242-2380 or at Northern Lights College @ 250-242-5591.

Wolverine Nordic Mountain Society (WNMS)

In winter the WNMS volunteers maintain ten kilometers of track set cross country ski trails, plus back country trails and snowshoe trails.  The Lost Haven ski cabin forms a welcome destination overlooking the Murray River.  Ski clinics are arranged depending on demand.  Membership forms are available at the doctor's office reception or on the WNMS website at www.pris.bc.ca/wnms.  Members are kept informed of events and outings via email.  Please call Birgit Sharman at 250-242-4860 or Linda or Charles Helm at 250-242-3984 for details.
